As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising swimming pool activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and responding effectively to any incidents or emergencies. You will also help maintain a clean, welcoming and well-presented pool environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising pool users and ensuring safe operation of the swimming pool.
  • Carrying out regular poolside checks and maintaining vigilance at all times.
  • Responding to emergencies and administering first aid when required.
  • Ensuring adherence to pool operating procedures and health and safety regulations.Assisting with pool setup, cleanliness and maintenance checks.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all users of the Sports Centre.
  • Supporting swimming lessons, school activities and community use where required.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent.
  • Have a strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
  • Be confident, calm and professional in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Be reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous lifeguarding experience is desirable but not essential.
