his role is an opportunity for a House Supervisor to support weekend cover in the Lower School during term time. Reporting to the HoMM (Lower School).

The main responsibility of the House Supervisor is to support the Housemaster/ Housemistress (HoMM) by ensuring the security, welfare, well-being and development of all pupils in the house. 

This must be carried out in accordance with school policy, Department of Health National Minimum Standards and the Children Act (1989). The Day House Supervisor is also responsible for the smooth running of the domestic arrangements of the house and the oversight of all cleaning and maintenance requirements.
 
The House Supervisor’s role may involve any or all of the following key accountabilities. Above all, there is an expectation of a parent figure who is generous with their time and responsive to the needs of the pupils, building positive appropriate relationships with the pupils to promote their physical and emotional welfare. The key accountabilities are neither definitive nor exhaustive and the range of tasks will embrace many incidents and situations which are not listed but require initiative and common sense to be applied.
 
The House Supervisor provides an invaluable channel of communication between the pupils and the HoMM and therefore will be required to demonstrate good personal interactive skills not only with the pupils and house staff but additionally with parents and guardians. The role is key to supporting the students maintain good standards of care for their house and their individual space within the house.
 
The House Supervisor is expected to have a highly visible presence around the House, interacting and socialising with the students. This is a non-residential position.

The House team is led by the Housemaster/Housemistress, and includes an Assistant Housemaster/Housemistress, a team of tutors and cleaners assigned to the House.
