Ardingly College Prep School is seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking Assistant Head (Academic) to lead and shape the academic vision for pupils from Nursery to Year 6.

This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving, award-winning independent school that values academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development. The Assistant Head (Academic) is responsible for leading the development and delivery of exceptional teaching and learning from Nursery to Year 6.

They will drive the Prep School’s academic vision, ensuring a forward-thinking, creative, and rigorous curriculum that enables every pupil to reach their full potential. The post-holder will lead staff to foster a collaborative learning culture that nurtures curiosity and independent thinking. As a key member of the Prep School’s Senior Management Team (SMT), the post holder will contribute to the strategic direction of the school and serve as a role model for staff and pupils.

This is a full-time teaching role within the Prep School, with reduced timetable commitment alongside leadership responsibilities and an allowance commersurate with the requirements of the role, which sits within the Prep School Allowance Bands.


The Prep Assistant Head (Academic) reports to the Head of the Prep School.
